1. Gap Year Golf Academy provides college credit courses at schools across the US for students who have completed high school and want to further their education by getting a certification in golf instruction. In addition to having access to online classes, they offer in-person classes where students work directly with instructors to improve their skills. Students can choose between certifications for Certified Professional Golf Instructors (CPI), Master Golf Teachers (MGT), and Associate Degree in Sports Management/Golf Course Supervision (ADSM).
2. You can complete a certificate program in just 5 months, and then receive up to 12 online credits. Certificates are valid in 28 states, and are transferable if desired. Aspiring instructors can get started right away without needing to wait until after graduation. You do not need any previous teaching experience to apply.
3. Enrollments have increased 300% since opening. Over 90% of students prefer online learning over traditional classrooms due to the convenience and flexibility. There is no cost for enrollment or tuition.
4. Students learn how to teach others while earning course credits. Teaching students in a classroom setting is a great way to learn firsthand how to instruct under pressure. Courses consist of practical lessons taught in a simulated environment.
5. Students receive direct feedback from instructors and peers throughout the semester to help them improve their skills. Students may be paired with someone else’s student to practice and review together. This helps students build relationships and become more comfortable around each other outside of the class.
6. All instructors are trained professionals who have years of industry experience. Each instructor teaches courses that meet the requirements for their respective certificates.
7. In order to maintain the integrity of their programs, Gap Year Golf Academy reviews all applicants before enrolling. If needed, additional training is provided based on an individual’s experience.
